dry skin beauty tips




Hi everyone. I'm in Santa Monica this week at a business apprenticeship at Petranek Fitness, also know as CrossFit Los Angeles. I will be learning as much as I can about running a gym, teaching classes, and all the in's and out's involved. Our own CrossFit gym is underway and we will be holding fundamental sessions and small group classes at our home until our facility is ready. Anyways, back to my day in Santa Monica. I flew out this morning and arrived at LAX, flight on time, luggage retrieved and took a cab to my hotel. I had a list of things I wanted to do today and needed to keep busy so I wouldn't spend the day with a belly ache from missing my family. So, I decided I was going to do like I did as a single traveling lady. Get to my home base, and then just go where ever I go. I forgot to mention, I ran into an acquaintance at the airport. His name is Jesse and I call him an acquaintance as I don't remember his last name. Anyways, he had just got married yesterday and was heading to Kauai for his honeymoon. That was neat.



So back to California. I get my stuff to my room and walk to the nearest grocery store which is Albertson's. I am going to try to stay as close to Paleo as I can on this trip, it can be done. I got a rotisserie chicken, turkey meat, broccoli, cauliflower, apples, strawberries, avocados, raw almonds, water, and a decaf americano...yes, the grocery store had a Starbucks. Then I head to my hotel again for lunch which was chicken, 1/2 an avocado, and raw cauliflower. Then I headed out towards the beach finishing my americano and eating a gluten free larabar made from cashews and dates. I walked to find Petranek Fitness where I will be spending most of my time this week. Very neat place as much as I could see peering in the windows. Then headed to LuluLemon for some workout clothing. That was super fun and had to resist the urge to spend a fortune on myself and then another fortune on Kevin as they have really cool men's workout clothes too. Then, head to 3rd Street Promenade and that was packed. People everywhere Found a little kids clothing store called...This Little Piggy Wear's Cotton and was hoping to see Reece Witherspoon or Katie Holmes in there shopping. But no. Bought the girls some cute funky socks as they are into this funky stage right now which is so adorable. Picked up a cute little dress for Sofia. Probably spent way more than I should on their clothes but...hey, I'm on vacation...well, business trip. Then, I walked to the beach and strolled down Santa Monica Pier. On the beach, next to the pier, there were 100's crosses lined up and four coffins. I never figured out what it was for but imagine it had something to do with the soldiers in the war.



It's nearly sunset and I need to start heading back to my hotel so I'm not out at dark. Head to Whole Foods to see if they have anything for dinner. Picked up asparagus, raw nuts, and chocolate covered almonds in case I get a sweet tooth, almond milk, and more larabar's. I was going to get a protein source as well for dinner and save the chicken and turkey for breakfasts during the week but get this...all the fish was farm raised....and the chicken was marinaded in soy, wheat, oats, the turkey burgers were rolled in oats...I couldn't do it I came home and had left over chicken from lunch, asparagus, the rest of the avocado, strawberries, nuts, and a few chocolate covered nuts. My legs are pooped. I walked for about 5 hours today, not the intensity I'm used to going at in my workouts, but my feet, legs, and hips were definitely ready to sit down. Now it's time for me to go to bed. I'll post more about this adventure tomorrow. I hope I learn a lot
